Hunting Parks Using the POTA Spots Feature

The POTA Spots feature uses information from the POTA API to show current activators. You can:

• Hide QRT spots
• Hide spots for parks you have already logged
• Filter spots to a single band or mode

POTA Spots is always available when activating a park. It is also available from the main Logs screen when Always show POTA Spots is turned on.

On the main screen, the button to show POTA spots is at the top:

When logging QSOs, the button appears to the right of the QSO entry form on large screens such as most iPads and macOS, and at the bottom on smaller screens such as iPhones. You may need to scroll to see it.

To hunt a park, tap any displayed spot. QSOMate opens a logging form with the activator’s call sign, frequency, mode, and park prepopulated.

Filtering spots

Click one of the four buttons at the top of the screen and select an option:

• Band: Select one band or All bands.
• Mode: Select one mode or All modes.
• Hide hunted / Show hunted: Choose whether to show spots you have already logged. If an activator moves to another band or mode, the spot appears again if you have not hunted that combination.
• Hide QRT / Show QRT: Choose whether to show spots where the activator marked the activation as QRT in the comment.

Logging a POTA contact

1. Tap the spot.
2. Add any desired information to the logging form.
3. Tap Save.
